It was an honour to present, be a plenary panelist and have a poster at the 9th World Social Marketing Conference (WSMC) in #Alicante, #Spain! This event brings together global changemakers and behaviour change experts, under this year’s theme; Catalysts for Change – Uniting Global Efforts to Shape a Better Future.
“This theme underscores the current and future importance of collective action, innovation and collaboration in addressing pressing social, environmental, developmental and health challenges of our time” – Professor Jeff French
It was an absolute honour to have my abstract titled “Innovative Rhino Horn Demand Reduction Initiative Combining Art with Science” selected for this conference, with a record number of submissions, the standard was extremely high, and to have my work reviewed and accepted by a team of behaviour change professionals was a vindication of the science and effort I put into moving this initiative forward!
And it was an honour to be invited as a plenary panel speaker by Lynda Bardfield for the Art of Social Marketing Panel, a humbling recognition of the work put in and path chosen, it was really awesome as this was my first social marketing conference as well. So thank you Lynda, and the team, as this really meant a lot to me!
This conference was an amazing experience, and so welcoming, I really appreciate everyone I met! The talks I got to catch were incredibly inspiring, I will be watching the videos of any plenary session I missed due to presentation prep/ and or recovery.
The project I presented at this conference is dedicated to the loving memory of my Service K9 Angel, whom I started and first presented this initiative with, I’m sure she’ll be proud of how far we’ve come since then.
Thank you to Professor Jeff French and John French for organizing and creating #WSMC25, it really was an exceptional conference and I left inspired and educated, it was an honour to be able to contribute and thank you for the opportunity. Also a big thank you to Markell Charles-Bailey, Carla Rodriguez-Sanchez, Franco Sancho-Esper and the organizers for helping me throughout the conference!
